Announcing Software Engineering Immersive Summer and Fall 2020 Schedule

As the global situation with COVID-19 continues, we remain invested in offering effective learning experiences and want to ensure that our students’ Software Engineering education and career goals are not affected.

Based on CDC recommendations and COVID-19 forecasting, we have determined that the Software Engineering Immersive cohorts beginning this summer and fall will be conducted remotely for the entire program.

Students who are aiming to start their Software Engineering Immersive journey can apply to one of these upcoming cohort start dates with certainty of a remote learning environment:

  • October 19th - conducted in Eastern Time

  • November 16th - conducted in Pacific Time

  • December 7th - conducted in Eastern Time

RESOURCES TO HELP NAVIGATE YOUR LEARNING AND BEST PREPARE FOR ADMISSIONS

1. How to ensure you have the tools and setup needed for effective learning in a remote environment:

All students enrolled in the cohorts starting until October 2020 will receive a $1,000 stipend to set up their home office to ensure they have the right tools to succeed, such as an Apple iPad, Apple Pencil, or other similar devices.

2. How to prepare yourself for success in a remote learning environment:

Attend our recently launched live, online workshop called “How to Be Successful in Remote Learning.” During this workshop, one of our lead Instructors will help break down challenges associated with online learning and provide tips on how you can get the most out of a remote learning environment at Codesmith.

3. How to best prepare for the admissions process online:

Join our “How to Pass the Technical Interview” workshop to learn the key things we’re assessing during the technical interview. During the workshop, we will cover what concepts are tested during the interview, what it means to have strong technical communication and more.

Additionally, check out our newly designed prep plan to find resources and courses that will work best based on your coding experience.

4. How is the remote learning experience different from onsite:

If you have any questions about our Immersive programs, the curriculum, career services, or how online instruction is different, Codesmith’s Onsite Programs’ Information Session is a great place to get them answered. You can also get a sense of our online teaching style by attending our Intro to JavaScript and JavaScript the Hard Parts free workshops happening every week.
