[BREAKING NEWS]:

US Department of Treasury awards $118M BPA to Codesmith/Lantec & Fedstack for workforce capability building in the non-political civil service.

Codesmith, in partnership with LANTEC, was awarded a $118 million Blanket Purchase Agreement by the IRS Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO, IRS Technical Workforce Development and Training BPA).

Codesmith’s expansion from Silicon Valley bootcamp to public service capacity building.

Founded in 2015 by Will Sentance,
[AI & Robotics engineering leader and Oxford fellow], Codesmith’s unorthodox beginnings as a bootstrapped tech school was created with the thesis that engineering, if taught by industry engineers will produce 100x builders.

Codesmith has proven this thesis true with 5000+ alumni. 90% of graduates get hired within 12 months, most land leadership roles within big tech & AI labs and many directly contribute to the world’s largest open source projects.

Codesmith now extends its mission and pedagogy into the public sector, supporting the building of technical capability within the permanent civil service in the U.S. Treasury and IRS, teams responsible for maintaining systems that touch hundreds of millions of people.

The permanent civil service spans more than two million people across the country, from park rangers and air traffic controllers, through to the software engineers that maintain the digital backbone of government.

“This work is about building internal engineering cultures that can safely evolve legacy systems, adopt AI-supported workflows, and sustain progress over decades. We’re honored to support Treasury in its mission.”

said Will Sentance,
Founder and Chief Academic Officer of Codesmith.
